Fried Yam Cake

I had 4 photos for this post.
Normally I would only take photo of the end product.
But this time I would need the photos for explanation.

Yam cake was the main ingredient in this dish.
The grated yam cake was mixed with tapioca flour and later was formed into desired shape. Then, it was placed in a steamer until it was cooked.
You could prepare more yam cakes and they could be kept in the refrigerator for a few days.

The yam cake was cut into smaller pieces. Other ingredients were garlic, pork stripe, prawn, egg and spring onion.

As usual, you would need to heat up some oil. The sequence was garlic, prawn and pork stripe, followed by egg. When the ingredients were almost cooked, you would need to add a glass of water and seasoned it with black soy sauce, light soy sauce and pepper. The yam cake was then added and it was stir fried until fragrant and dry. Lastly, spring onion was added in and it was ready to be served.

I like the springy texture of the yam cake very much and wonder if this is a common dish. Tell me if you have tried this before.

The recipe is embedded in the lines. It is actually pretty similar to the normal fried noodles. I will take more photos and blog about the making of the yam cake when I have time.
